Cold Therapy

Discover cold plunges, ice baths and recovery solutions designed to support resilience, recovery, circulation and overall wellbeing.

How to choose

Choosing an ice bath or cold plunge

Three decisions settle almost every cold-therapy purchase. Here they are, shortest answer first.

The main decision

Chiller, or ice?

A built-in WiFi chiller holds any temperature from about 3–15°C automatically. No ice runs, and it's cold and ready every day. A basic tub is filled and cooled with ice: less up front, more effort each session. This one drives both the price and how often you'll actually use it.

Use

Plunge, or soak?

Ice baths and cold tubs are built for cold immersion. The Ofuro also takes warm water, so it doubles as a soaking tub. The Barrel Shower is a cold shower, not an immersion tub.

Size

One person, or two?

A 470 L tub suits one adult comfortably. For two people, taller bathers, or more room to move, step up to 750–800 L.

The evidence

How cold do you need to go?

You don't need near-freezing water for meaningful cold exposure. Many protocols use water around 10–15°C, and the right temperature and time depend on your goal, experience and tolerance. Colder isn't automatically better. We set out what the studies actually show, including where cold works against you.

Before you buy

Power & plumbing

Chiller models plug into a standard 10 A outlet nearby. No plumbing or special wiring. Basic tubs need only a hose to fill and a way to drain.

Placement & delivery

Plan a level base that can carry a full tub (750 L is 750 kg of water) and a simple way to drain it. Delivery is Australia-wide, with freight quoted by postcode so you see the real landed cost before committing.

Water care

Chiller tubs usually include filtration to keep water clean between changes. Basic tubs are drained and refilled manually. Simpler, but more hands-on.

Common questions

How often should I cold plunge?

Most protocols land around a few short sessions a week. Frequency and timing matter more than going colder. See the frequency guide →

Is cold immersion safe?
