Our Thermo Alder interior cladding boards are crafted from premium European timber, transformed through heat and steam treatment without chemicals to create a durable, richly toned finish suited to sauna interiors.
Featuring the STP profile, a specialised cladding system designed for sauna walls and ceilings, the boards have rounded edges and narrow tongue-and-groove joints, creating a smooth, continuous surface with subtle shadow lines.
The thermal modification process alters the wood’s cellular structure, reducing moisture absorption and improving dimensional stability to help minimise warping, shrinking and movement through repeated cycles of heat and humidity.
Originally characterised by subtle reddish-brown tones, European Alder develops a deeper, richer brown colour through heat treatment. Its fine grain and naturally resin-free composition complement the refined finish, bringing warmth and understated elegance to any sauna interior.
